Meet Artist Associate, Tonya Nichols!

Ministry Emphasis:  Acting, Speaking and Teaching Scripture Memory

We’ve known Tonya since she was in high school theater productions at Woodinville High School near Seattle.  Twice she was cast in shows that were selected in the top ten national shows asked to perform main stage in the International Thespian Society, (ITS) Festival held in Muncie, Indiana.  Tonya’s ITS audition brought her eighteen college scholarship options, and she chose Pepperdine University in Malibu, California to pursue a dual Drama and English degree.  In 1996, she completed the fifth year training to earn a California teaching credential from Westmont College, in Santa Barbara, California Having given her love of dramatic arts to God, as a result of meeting David at a church camp in her teens, Tonya has focused only on work that promised eternal significance.   FULL BIO

What People Are Saying. . .

"Fifteen years ago, Tonya’s faith during a severe family crisis made me consider my need for God, and I was saved at a camp where she was a counselor.  Since then, I have made many choices that led me away from God, and have often felt lost in my own sin.  When I heard that Tonya was going to be in town performing a new show, “No More Darkness,” I wanted to attend and see if she was still the same person I looked up to in my youth.  I had no idea that her character, Mary Magdalene, would break my hard heart open again, and show me the way out of the darkness.  I came away certain that there are none so lost that Christ can not rescue, and I now see God as a Father who loves me enough to forsake His own Son, so that I will never be abandoned.  Thank you for sharing the light."

Pastor's Perspective

"Tonya shared the dramatic story of Mary Magdelene with our church on Easter weekend 2006. The theme was From Darkness to Light. Her presentation was powerful and inspiring. Her realistic portrayal of the struggles, set backs and eventual triumph of Mary Magdelen struck a responsive chord with many in the audience, who were moved to tears. I would highly recommend Tonya’s services. She is very professional and easy to work with! We will certainly have her back."
