HISTORY: "You're going to do what?!"

That's what a family member said to me twenty-eight years ago when Drama in Church wasn't too common. I have some stories from those early years... Before becoming a Christian, I had given up performing. I'd found that performing in the world was as empty as the message in the scripts I would read. Unexpectedly, however, this performance ministry began within two weeks of my accepting Christ as my Lord and Savior. First, I was asked to do Mime for the a youth group, the next Sunday I was asked to sing for Sunday service, and a few weeks later, "The Apostle Peter" script was written in one day and handed to me by my good friend Steve Thomas.
When I finally had a message that was more important than the messenger, I was ready to perform again. That was back in 1979. Since then, I've been honored to share that message through Drama, Song, Mime and Storytelling. Now that I'm no longer performing, with the help of my wife Debra and fellow guest directors, we have launched a youth performance team and a summer drama camp.
